DESCRIPTION AND RESOURCES

DESCRIPTION: The visit consists of a presentation and demonstration in the Japanese Culture Center Theater. There are videotapes, artifacts and hands-on activities. Students are invited to participate, to hear and try out some of the language, try on kimono, examine traditional wooden toys and school materials, do origami and see a brief martial arts demonstration. Content also includes koto music and information about festivals. The final activity of the program is a quiz show on Japan with prizes for the children. Reserve as soon as possible.
