2/14/2012 Students Participate in SkillsUSA Competition at Edison HS

The 2012 SkillsUSA Regional Competition was held at Thomas Edison High School of Technology on Feb. 8. More than 150 students competed in 27 categories, including carpentry, residential wiring, architectural drafting, culinary arts, extemporaneous speaking, plumbing and advertising design. Students competed from Edison, Damascus High School and four high schools in Prince George’s County.

Edison student Mildred Claros placed second in the cosmetology category.

Edison offers 18 career and technical education programs to high school students throughout MCPS. First, second and third place winners will compete at the state level in May.
