The Road to College Readiness—Explained

The Road to College Readiness—Explained

More than 20 parents attended a Takoma Park Middle School workshop on the Seven Keys to College Readiness.

More than 20 parents learned about the Seven Keys to College Readiness during Family Night at Takoma Park Middle School Oct. 29. The Department of Family and Community Partnerships (DFCP) led the session.

Schools can request a Seven Keys workshop—available in English or Spanish—for their parent communities. Interpreters are also available if requested. The Seven Keys provide a pathway, beginning in elementary school, designed to help students be ready for college success. The workshops can offer a general overview of all Seven Keys or focus on one of the specific keys. DFCP has conducted workshops for a number of schools, as well as for parents whose children attend the George B. Thomas, Sr. Learning Academy.

If you are interested in a workshop, email DFCP director Eric Davis or call DFCP at 301-279-3100.
