Board of Education Members
President: Michael A. Durso
Mr. Durso was elected to his second four-year term on November 4, 2014. He currently serves as the Board's president and as chair of the Board's Fiscal Management Committee.
Vice President: Judith Docca
Dr. Docca was elected to her third four-year term on November 4, 2014. She currently serves as vice president and is a member of the Board's Strategic Planning and Special Populations committees.
Jeanette E. Dixon- At-Large
Ms. Dixon was elected to her first four-year term on November 8, 2016. She is a member of the Board's Fiscal Management and Strategic Planning committees. In 2013, Ms. Dixon retired from Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) after a 30-year career as a teacher (Social Studies) and principal (White Oak Middle School 1997-2001 and Paint Branch High School 2001-2013).
District 4: Shebra L. Evans
Mrs. Evans was elected to her first four-year term on November 8, 2016. She is a member of the Board's Fiscal Management and Special Populations committees. Mrs. Evans has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles with the Montgomery County Council of PTAs (MCCPTA), including Vice President of Educational Issues, Vice President of Programs, Recording Secretary-Delegate Assembly, and Wheaton Cluster Coordinator.
District 3: Patricia O'Neill
Mrs. O'Neill was first elected to the Board of Education in 1998 and was elected to her fifth four-year term on November 4, 2014. She has served as the Board's president five times and currently is the chairperson of the Board's Policy Management Committee.
Jill Ortman-Fouse - At-Large
Ms. Ortman-Fouse was elected to her first four-year term on November 4, 2014. She is the chairperson of the Board's Strategic Planning Committee and a member of the Policy Management Committee.
District 2: Rebecca Smondrowski
Mrs. Smondrowski was elected to her second four-year term on November 8, 2016. She is the chair of the Board's Committee on Special Populations and a member of the Policy Management Committee.
Student Member: Matthew Post
Mr. Post, a senior at Sherwood High School, is the 40th student member of the Board of Education.
