Family Life and Human Development Advisory Committee

The Montgomery County Board of Education is seeking two community members and two public high school students to serve on its Family Life and Human Development Advisory Committee. The committee serves in an advisory capacity to consult with professional educators.

Appointment terms are for July 1, 2012, through June 30, 2013. Unless exempted by the Board, no member shall serve for more than two consecutive terms. Members serve without compensation. The committee generally meets once every other month during the evening and may meet more frequently if needed.

The Board of Education makes every effort to appoint advisory committees in which the membership is balanced by geographic area, race, ethnicity, gender, and range of viewpoints, but the final selection of all members will be at the discretion of the Board. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply. All applicants must be bona fide residents of Montgomery County. All student applicants must attend a Montgomery County Public Schools high school.

Applications must be received by close of business on Friday, May 18, for appointment to be made by the Board of Education at its meeting on June 14. (Applicants are not required to attend this meeting.)
