Grades are based on evidence of attainment of the course outcomes, as outlined in the MCPS Curriculum Frameworks. The following symbols and statements are used to report progress:

Outstanding level of performance

High level of performance
C
Satisfactory level of performance
D
Minimum level of performance

Failure

Loss of credit
CR
The student is maintaining a level of performance that is acceptable for credit purposes
NC
The student's level of performance is unsatisfactory
I
Incomplete—due to extenuating circumstances, the student has been given an approved extension of time.
W
Withdrawn with school approval in accordance with MCPS procedures.
