Meetings: The Walter Johnson It's Academic team practices every day of the week during lunch and all are welcome to attend!

There is a practice exclusively for all of the newer players on Wednesdays.

Team History: Since Mr. Whipple took the helm as the coach of the Walter Johnson It's Academic team in 1993, WJ has been a strong force in regional and national quiz bowl. In 1997, the Wildcats won the ASCN Tournament of Champions in Chicago. In 2000, they earned 2nd place in that tournament. Additionally, in the year 2000 WJ tied for first in the international Knowledge Master Open. WJ won first place on the television show "Quizmaster Challenge" in 2001, 2003 and 2009. Walter Johnson has been very successful on the show It's Academic, making it to the semifinals from 2000-2006 and winning the Washington Area Championship and the It's Academic Superbowl in 2005 and 2007.
