What am I supposed to do?

Students will answer these essential questions:

-How did the technological evolution of the early twentieth century impact mass communication?
-In particular, how did the United States government legislate communications technology from the turn of the twentieth century to the present?
-Who were the essential thinkers that created television and made it what it has become today?
-What are the critical questions we must consider both as producers and consumers of television content?

Students are to research an instructor-provided topic. They are to effectively use the internet as a primary and as a secondary source, use a variety of printed materials and possibly conduct interviews to create:

-A short video presentation

-An audience handout that provides an overview of the topic

Pose at least two essential questions that the video presentation answers
Identify and define at least three therms that are central to the topic being presented

-Cite Sources using MLA or APA guidelines

How is my information best presented?

1. Your Video Presentation must be:

-Between three and five minutes in length
-Informative and Organized


2. Your Class Handout must be:

-A one or two page summary of the main topics that you will address in your video.
-Prepared in Microsoft Word
-Given to me at least one day before you show your presentation so that student copies may be made.
 


How will I credit my sources?

Credit sources: Cite or quote sources in your paper using correct bibliographic citations (for tips see Works Cited Format).

Prepare an Annotated Bibliography. This is an alphabetical listing of the sources that you use to prepare your video. (Note: you will be provided with MLA Stylesheets and your Bibliography must follow that format.) For each source, you provide a brief explanation (one or two sentences) telling us how you used this source to prepare your video.
