Spotlight on Mrs. Leverrier
By Sehee
Mrs. Leverrier is a hard working para-educator who has been at Oakland Terrace now for three years. She loves teaching students and learning about them.
“I am really happy to be here because I am surrounded by friendly people”, says Mrs. Leverrier, excitedly. Every week she looks forward to working with students one on one to really get to know them better. She says that she couldn’t have asked for a “more wonderful job than this”.
Another thing Mrs. Leverrier loves, besides teaching, is traveling. Once she went to London and ‘accidentally’ met a spy. “It was so funny because at first I did not know that I was talking to a spy. Once I was back from my trip I laughed when I realized that I had probably spoken to a real agent”, she says. On another trip Mrs. Leverrier went to Los Angeles, California for a fun visit to Hollywood. She went to a famous restaurant called “The Ivy”, for lunch. While there she ran into Simon Cowel, a well-known judge on American Idol, waiting for his ride. She went over and had a friendly chat with him and asked for his autograph that she later gave to a friend who is a big fan of the show.
Mrs. Leverrier lives a busy life outside of school. She lives with her husband in Kensington and has four boys ages 15-31.
