Good evening, this is Mrs. Pulliam, principal of Oakland Terrace Elementary School.
What a busy day we had today. Not only was today picture day, but we also kicked off a fundraiser for our school.
This afternoon students are bringing home an important mailing in their backpacks about our OT School fundraiser. This is a great opportunity to raise money for school-wide programs and projects.
The important part is that this fundraiser involves absolutely NO door-to-door selling, students will NOT collect money and will NOT handle the merchandise.
We only ask that you do two simple things:
1. Fill out the enclosed booklet with the names of family or friends that you think would help us by purchasing a magazine.
2. Place in the Return Envelope and send them back with your child tomorrow or no later than Friday, October 2.
40% of every subscription will go to the funding of new technology and extra reading materials for our school.
To all students that help on this project by turning in at least 7 names and addresses, we will award a ticket to see the "Incredible Dr. Baynes" Science program AND anyone that turns in a family order will receive a VIP pass to the Science program.
Our goal is to have every family participate. We do appreciate your support and look forward to promoting reading through both books and magazines. Thanks in advance and have a wonderful evening.

This is a busy week at Oakland Terrace Elementary beginning on Tuesday September 29th with our Fall Student Portraits. All students will have their pictures taken. I repeat, all picture order forms MUST be brought in on Tuesday September 29th - No late forms will be accepted.
On Thursday October 1st the Kindergarten will participate in their first in-school field trip – a Mother Goose Puppet Show! Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time, as the show starts just after they arrive. If you have not yet turned in your permission slip and money you should do that as soon as possible.
Friday October 2nd is an Early Release Day. Teachers will be using this afternoon for grading and planning. Students will be dismissed at 1:00pm. Please be sure to make arrangements for this early release.
Lastly, we urge and beg you to please allow the crossing guard to cross your children. We understand that it is a longer walk, but for the safety of our children you must use the crosswalk.
Have a wonderful week. Goodbye!
