Smith Island: Getting Around Tylerton

Here we are at Tylerton on Smith Island. Look at this beautiful artwork! I am glad that's not a real bird. It's pretty big...and scary..and never mind.....

MMMM!! No matter how busy you are you should always take time to smell the flowers! Maybe I'll send some of these to my Lady Beaver back home.

WHOOO!! I love driving! Check out the Hot Rod man! It purrs like a kitten! Here everyone tools around in golf carts like this one. Excuse me, I am going to go have a drag race with a Mutant Cat.

OUCH!! This NEEDLE RUSH HURTS!!! But it's worth it...watch out mud...here I come! This reminds me of that movie I starred in, Tarzan, swinging across the reeds. Look at me go!!!!

Hey! I am just hangin' out here with the honeys in front of the General Store. You know those guys are jealous. SWEET!

Yes, thank you...OH hi! This is the General Store. I am buying a delicious coke from this lovely lady. It's hard to make it through these long working days without some caffeine!

This is the Tylerton Bed and Breakfast. It makes you feel like you're right at home. I am coming back again to stay here!

Hey! This is just like our school...except 1/3 the size...no one goes there anymore...and their basketball court is a deck. But a lovely school! Remember kids: School Is Cool! Elementary School students in Tylerton now go to Ewell by boat. High School students take the school boat the whole way to Crisfield every day.

AHHHHHH!!! It's a mutated, three legged cat!! They are all over this place. There are more cats than humans. I hope it doesn't like to eat Beaver! But he's a nice guy, I had a chat with him and he lost his leg in an accident.

This is the wonderful Smith Island Church. It is a Methodist Church and everyone in Tylerton belongs to it. It's very uplifting...get it? I AM FLOATING!! WHHOOOOO!! The church is the center of the town and the center of life.

This is the lovely Smith Island Co-Op, let's go look at the sign! Here they help people and buy and sell crabs. During the busy crabbing months, the women of Tylerton pick crabs and send the crab meat to market. Co-Op = Cooperative!

Here's the sign for the Smith Island Co-Op. Pretty big sign huh? Look, even the President knows about it, so we know it is important.

This is the old ticket booth for the baseball field. Since they don't play baseball anymore they don't have a need for the booth but it's pretty cool. I just hope I don't FFFFAAAALLLLLL.....

Here I am at the old baseball field. The field is now used as a helicopter landing pad. Each city on Smith Island use to have a baseball team but now there are not enough young people. The last game played was about eight years ago.
