Forest Oak Middle School celebrated the Grand Opening of its newly created Broken Tree Trail on Thursday, June 14, 2001. Special guests and students enjoyed speeches, an award ceremony, a ribbon cutting, and special activities. The trail was the project of Forest Oak's Bay Studies classes during the spring of 2001.
The students built the trail area with fallen limbs and trees and mulched many hundreds of feet of trails leading down to the stream. A bridge and crossover were built to increase access to the stream areas. A classroom area, with seating was assembled in the glen.
We're so proud of our new facilities! Thanks to the hard working staff and students of Forest Oak for their contribution to improving the school environment for years to come.
